Leaving Berlin day!
Jey and I got up pretty early, checked out, and went over to the train station. From there we trained to the main station and transferred and uh, it was really crowded. So crowded, we couldn’t find seats, and we ended up sitting on the floor by the bathrooms until Dresden, where lots of people got off and we were able to find seats.
We got into Prague around 1:30, wandered a bit for an ATM for local currency, then some more to figure out the metro, then to the hostel!
Lookit that metro art! So pretty.
Yay Prague!
That was our station for our stay.
The hostel we stayed in was Sir Toby’s. Check in wasn’t until 3 so we just hung about the lobby and the front desk lady gave us a map and talked about places to go and she was just adorable and amazing.
There was some slight confusion, on my part, that they said I’d prepaid and I reeeeally didn’t remember that. And I’d booked a double ensuite and she said something about they had double booked that room or it was being painted or something I didn’t quite catch, so we got upgraded and it was AWESOME.
We got the Blue Sky Room :D
Called so I assume because it’s the very top, the 5th floor, up a flight of extremely narrow and steep stairs, but worth it!
It had the most beautiful natural lighting, four beds (though two were pushed together for a king), in love.
Lookit that cute little nook! That table is actually an old sewing machine stand, you can see the push pedal just.
A little kitchenette with sink, kettle, tea & coffee stuffs.
Stairs of doooooom, with Jey kindly acting as perspective XD
Ah that room. I want it to keep.
After we dumped our stuff we set off to exploooore, and to check out this super secret tea house Jey had read about.
We didn’t stop there, but how about a fried cheese... burger? I don’t think you’d call it a burger at that point, but yeah 8D
I like signs :D
And bricks (cobblestones?)
And buildings
We didn’t go in here, I think it was a pub, but yes.
Love them spires! Feels very fairy tale.
So as we walked, we were basically wandering and heading in the direction of “Old Town,” the little shops kept having this GORGEOUS clock on it, and I was like “We need to go where this is!” (Obviously, I did not research too well).
:D It ended up being in the main square! Yay!
Sooooo beautiful.
So Jey had read about this secret tea culture in Czech, and this one tea place in particular, which supposedly doesn’t advertise its address and when you find it it’s totally unmarked and supposed to have a bell pull, and then a little eye hole opens and you say the code or whatever.
So we wanted to go there.
This was not it.
Maybe.
It was the right address, but it was a vegan restaurant. The article she read was a year or two old, so probably not advertising your location was not a good business plan and this place took over.
I did get a delicious fried goat cheese dish out of it though.
Lehka Hlava was the name of the place.
So even though we really only started wandering at 3pm, it felt like a totally full day and we saw loads aaaaand I want to go back already!
