Marble Temple!
So I’d read this was a DON’T MISS, and it was near to our hostel, so it worked out!
Marble Temple things!
Maybe because of when we went, but there were very few people there.
It is a very pretty temple, and rather large, but not huge.
Aaah this is when I discovered taking my hat off and on was… not working out for my hair!
Ew.
And in!
It cost 20 baht to go in, which is less than 1 USD.
I’m not up on Buddhist temple design, so I don’t know the areas but I think this would be… the main worship part? Inside the building proper.
The stained glass made me think of all those cathedrals we went to in Europe.
From there we went back out and into the courtyard area.
A wide open area, with covered hallways surrounding it.
A lot of mirror use in the decorations!
The covered hallways were mostly filled with various Buddhas.
I’d never seen this version before.
The plaque said this is a fasting Buddha, done in a Greek style.
I really liked the lotus (?) motif on the ceiling
This sign was by the exit.
We wandered the grounds a bit after that, but there isn’t that much there.
This sign regarding the building there is sponsored by Pepsi.
I really liked these guard lion things!
Quite striking.
Okay! I’ll conclude w/ the Golden Mount next time!
